⨠Make a campaign out of nothing. Remember when Shreddies did an entire campaign focusing on how their square cereal was diamond? Dumb but clever and fun. Tell everyone youâre celebrating your least favourite siblingâs birthday with 1% off your products or tell your audience you believe in a 4 day work week so youâre creating content inspired by working from your bed on Fridays. As long as it aligns then dumb can work. Itâs better than a straight sales post or campaign 9 times out of 10.
⨠How can you make fun of yourself? My best performing content is collab content where I make fun of how annoying marketing is. (Sort of like this video.) Can you poke some harmless fun at you or your team and their quirks?
⨠Share the dumbest thing youâve ever done as a business owner. Itâs a great way to build trust and make yourself memorable. One marketing book I read talked about a brand that made their biggest mistake an entire campaign. Something like âWe painted the wrong house and STILL got a glowing review.â
