Marketing is a mix of art and psychology. Here are four psychology hacks for your marketing:
#1 – Priming:
We’ve all heard the story about an influencer with a million followers not being able to sell a T-shirt. Part of the problem is lack of priming. You need to warm up your audience to purchase, make them problem-aware. This can be anything from the colours of your website to the content you post.
#2 – Social Proof:
Lower the perception of risk by demonstrating the proven results you’ve given to other customers and clients. You also want to paint a picture of the ‘after’. Demonstrate how others feel happier, healthier and excited after using your product.
#3 – Get Them to say NO:
Most of us assume that we want to get our audiences to start saying yes to all the questions that we start asking. But getting your audience to say no to something helps build trust. Ie. Do you want to continue feeling like crap?
#4 – Scarcity:
Scarcity is one of the oldest hacks in marketing. You can do this with limited edition products, offers, combos, or sales! If you don’t act now, you’re going to miss it!
Even with these hacks, you can’t sell something that doesn’t have value or isn’t what you’ve promised. At least not more than once.
