Collabs can drive sales, but how do you choose who to partner with?
Always go back to your ‘WHY’: It can be overwhelming trying to figure out who to partner with. What if they’re your competition? Does it make sense to partner? Ask yourself if your ‘why’ aligns with theirs. Are you all about building confidence in women? Mental health or cutting out sugar? Ask yourself if both your visions align.
Make it clear: When you promote your collab, make it clear to your audience why both audiences should be interested and that you have similar goals. Whether it’s an event, a limited-edition product, or giveaway, tell your audience why your chose this collab for them.
Does size matter?: You might feel hesitant to partner with a brand with a much smaller following that yours. But ask yourself how engaged the other brand’s audience is and how valuable this collab will be to both audiences. It may be a small audience but if they’re engaged it can bring real value.
You should be excited: One of the best ways to decide if this is a good partnership or collab for you is if you’re excited. If you’re amped up to launch it to your audience then they’ll likely be excited to purchase it.
Finding partners: Ask your audience who they’d like to see you partner with. Or see who you are spending your time following. Look for brands in similar spaces like retailers of events. Then reach out with your idea!
This should be fun: Collabs are one of the most fun parts of marketing so make it FUN! It can be silly, extravagant, simple or long-term. It’s totally up to you!
