I’m in my 8th year of business and I know the signs of leveling up…
Your Name Gets Around: It’s one thing to be known in the community I’ve been a party of for years but when people you’ve admired for a while know who you are…that means you’re being brought up in conversations you’re not present for. (In a good way)!
Your Systems Suck: I’m not talking about when your systems are out of date but when you’ve outgrown your website, your programs, your processes, and the way you do business. It’s because you’re leveling up. Needing to upgrade newsletter programs is a big sign of moving to the next stage.
You Start To Hate Tasks: When we first started, my partner and I did everything. We took all the photos, wrote all the copy, and did all the recipe development. But I started to enjoy that part less because I wanted to work on more and more blue sky planning and I was able to, because we were growing.
You’ve Exhausted Your Resources: It’s a good thing when you feel you’ve gotten everything you can out of organic social media or the ads you’re running. It means it’s time to expand, try new touchpoints, and build on what you have.
F*ck it: Having a f*ck it attitude can be extremely productive. It means you’re feeling safe, bold, and ready to leap into something new. You’ve built something solid and steady and you’re ready to change things up a bit.
You’re ready to level up.
