At our last event, we created some awesome merch, including tie-dye shirts that were hand dyed. But it was a small batch, printed locally and priced like concert shirts. We received a ton of feedback and ended up lowering the price.
There wasn’t a problem with the price; there was an issue with our storytelling. We didn’t explain the price or story behind it The result was wary customers and sluggish sales.
Lesson learned, next event, we will be really telling the story of each lovingly crafted item and the thoughtful brands behind them.
